Lefika Training - What’s on!Lefika has organised a series of public workshops and programmes for 2011. All profits generated from our training go directly to support our community-based empowerment projects.LEFIKA WORKSHOPSIntroductory Skills Workshops (min 12 participants, max 20): Reviving Communication (RC) (4 days) – an experiential group workshop, which encourages self-development and capacity building, through the application and exploration of psychoanalytic thinking. This workshop includes group skills, communication techniques and art making using a wide range of materials and objects. A useful workshop for both personal and professional growth. This course is HPCSA accredited for 30 CPD points. Introduction to art therapy (RC) (1 day) Learn how basic Art Therapy tools can assist you to improve your group and communication skills with children and staff teams. Working with Disabilities (WD) (2 days) Explore non-verbal creative approaches to working with disabilities that facilitate positive self-regard with an emphasis on abilities. The workshop will experientially explore the exciting possibilities of working with a range of disabilities including physical, visual & hearing impaired Counselling during Crisis Situations (CCS) (1 day) – understand the complexity of crisis situations and the application of an art-based counselling approach. This workshop explores art counselling methods of providing containment and support, specifically during crises. Working with Children (WC) (2 days) – using psychodynamic principles, gain insight into the dynamics and processes to sensitively work with groups of young people. This workshop will include working with, and making, materials using basic everyday ingredients. Working with HIV (WHIV) (1 day) – finding a voice and a language to create the stories of those infected and affected by HIV can be a positive and supportive therapeutic process, leading to acceptance and a more proactive engagement with the affects of the disease. Explore various ways of holding and helping to facilitate creative ways of telling a story. Corporate/team Workshops - facilitated on request: Creative Thinking in the Workplace – motivate staff and teams through participation in experiential creative group processes. Teambuilding – building the team through creative play and exploration.
